When a second murder in the small town of Geyserville resembles
another a few months earlier, Lieutenant Zack Walker fears that a
serial killer might be at large and calls on mystery writer and
psychic, Juno, to help solve the crimes. Magazine editor, Charlie Addison
persuades Juno to let his top correspondent, Alex Martell, conduct an
interview, but Juno is uncooperative and the interview goes awry when he
discovers that Alex is female. Although he is a womanizer with two broken
marriages and scores of love affairs in his past, Alex unnerves him and he
treats her with disdain.
Normally professional and confident, Juno’s attitude upsets Alex who is
recovering from a near-breakdown. Her nerves have suffered badly since
the mysterious disappearance of her husband, John, five months earlier.
When the next murder victim is a dead ringer for Alex, Lieutenant
Walker instructs his sergeant to investigate if there is any connection
between the three murders and John Martell’s disappearance.
When her office cancels an appointment, Alex calls at a restaurant for
some refreshment. On her way back to the car, she is involved in a hit and
run accident. As she is regaining consciousness in hospital, someone voices a
warning. Not sure if she was dreaming, she pushes the threat from her
mind, but ensuing events convince her that she is the killer’s next victim.
Based in Florida, Lilies of Death is loaded with tension, mystery and
intrigue along with a smattering of romance.
Jordan Hall’s third novel is littered with twist and turns and keeps you
guessing right until the end.
